It’s the battle that seems like it’s never going to end – George Shelley has taken a swipe at Lady Colin Campbell after she claimed she was bullied by Duncan Bannatyne and Tony Hadley in the I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! jungle.
Lady C insisted she was targeted by the two men during her time on the ITV reality show and has since spoken very negatively of her former campmates, and even had a public spat with Duncan’s girlfriend after walking off the show early.
And mild mannered George Shelley has now waded into the argument, branding Lady C “childish”.
The Union J singer told the Daily Mirror: “It just seemed so childish. I can never imagine myself at that age arguing like that, and name calling.”
He added: “It wasn’t bullying, it was almost as if they were competing for an alpha role.”
The star also spoke about his own experience of being bullied, recalling that he was targeted at school for being overweight.
He said: “I was bullied for being fat.
“My mum and dad broke up when I was quite young, so me and my sister comfort ate a lot of food. I got really fat. It was insecurity.”
The musician even had his head dunked down the toiled by “gangs of people” and was physically attacked too.
He continued: “They were proper nasty. One head butted me just because I was fat and I was eating some chocolate.
“The same kid kicked a football at me which broke my wrist. I had to go to the hospital and ended up with a cast on it.
“I had to move schools twice because of it. I home schooled myself in the last year because I was going through a lot of issues.”
