The Malone family from Manchester have been a part of the popular TV show Gogglebox along with their dogs for four years. Now, sadly Shaun Malone has taken to social media to announce that their beloved dog Frank has died.
After 11 years with the family, Frank was put to sleep and Shaun posted the heartbreaking tribute on Instagram saying, 'After 11 years with the family it was so hard but best thing to do for him we’ve had to put my dog frank to sleep R.I.P frankie'. [sic]
It seemed that Shaun's post touched a chord with many fans who left messages such as 'So sad, losing a pet is like losing family 💕', 'Aww sad news.. RIP Frank! 😢😢 xo' and 'So sorry , it's always heartbreaking me & my husband only watch goggle box to see your dogs 😅 we are rotti people , we lost our 11yr old boy Alloy nearly 3 years ago and life has never been the same 😢'. The family also took to Twitter to say, 'Thank you so very much for all your kind words & thoughts It's been a tough day but now trying to focus on all our good times with Frankie , there are such a lot !The thing is he was loved too much for us to let him suffer He will never be forgotten ,he will live on in our hearts'. Frank had been adopted from the RSPCA as a puppy by the Malone family and after making the hard decision to put Frank down, Shaun told the charity: "11 years ago my family got a dog frank from you and unfortunately he has had to be put to sleep today."
He added: "Thank you for letting us have him."
The Malones were known appearing on Gogglebox surrounded by their dogs, with them often licking the family's faces or trying to steal treats!
The Malone family first joined Gogglebox in series four, back in 2014 and have been a popular addition to the programme since they joined.
Gogglebox is currently into its 11th series and continues on Channel 4
