On Friday Twitter was set alight as viewers noticed he was absent from their screens, with one person writing: “Get in, sit down, turn on #Gogglebox WHERE IS SILENT JAY #bringbacksilentjay.”
Last month it was revealed he and girlfriend Eve Woerdenweber, who also appears on the show, had split but it was believed he would stay on the programme until the end of the series.
Unfortunately he’s gone forever. OUCH!
A Channel 4 spokesman said: “It’s with great regret that Silent Jay is no longer in this series of Gogglebox.
“He has been an excellent contributor to Gogglebox, and we are very grateful for all he has given to the show.”
Just last week Jay used his actual voice to tell The Sun he was “gutted” he and Eve had broken up and said he was surprised by the end of the relationship.
He said: “I’m gutted that Eve broke up with me. It came completely out of the blue.
“We had a few problems and started drifting apart but I thought it was down to the pressure of the show and her business.
“Eve said she still wants to be friends but hasn’t spoken to me and has deleted me on Facebook. It really hurts, we were so close.”
Aww, poor Silent Jay!
