Series 3 of **Married At First Sight **resulted in only one couple staying together after Harriet and Richard divorced and Carrie and Wayne didn't even make it down the aisle. That meant fans of the show had all their hopes pinned on Ben and Stephanie working out their differences, however it seems it's not all gone to plan.
32-year-old Stephanie and 36-year-old Ben decided to stay together but live apart whilst they tried to make it work but things looked promising in the finale as police officer Stephanie revealed that not only were the couple in love but millionaire property developer Ben had said it first.
As the three-part series concluded, Stephanie said, "I cant believe there is somebody in the world who has been matched to me as well as Ben."
However in an interview with Fubar radio, Ben has revealed that he's broken up with Stephanie leaving her 'gutted'.
He told hosts Stephen and Lizzie, "It broke my heart to do what I had to do, I couldn’t give someone so lovely and so nice what she wanted."
Ben continued, "She’s a lovely girl and I’m still friends with her but I couldn’t give her what she needed, or what she wanted. She’s a beautiful girl and a phenomenal person."
"Stephanie and I are still friends but I couldn’t give her what she wanted and what she needed, and time is of the essence."
Ben revealed he's already moved on by having a 'kiss and a cuddle'.
In February Stephanie and Ben had appeared on This Morning to discuss what it's like to marry a stranger.
All ten couples who have featured in the UK version of the Channel 4 show have split, however a call for applicants for a potential fourth series is already underway.
In order to apply for the next series, applicants will need to have never married, have no children, be aged 18 or over and ‘feel ready for marriage’.
