Cast your mind back 17 years (AS IF it's been that long) to 2001 when the very first Harry Potter film came out. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone literally changed the face of children's literature and film - and nearly two decade later, it's still one of the most beloved series in the world.

Written by J.K. Rowling, the film series were all relatively true to the books - save a couple of characters and minor plotlines (never forget Winky the Elf), and the actors all pretty much matched up to how they looked in our imaginations.

The main child cast - Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint - have all gone on to have HUGE careers in film and theatre, and so have become regular faces on screen and stage - but can you remember how they looked back in the very first film?! Hint: VERY cute.

Swipe through to see how the child cast of Harry Potter looked back in the first film..

The term 'Longbottoming' was coined to describe people who became extremely attractive when they grew up after Matthew Lewis turned into a hunk!

N'aww. The fact that they had to try and MAKE Matthew Lewis AKA Neville Longbottom more geeky and less handsome as he got older is one of our FAVE Potter facts, it has to be said. 😍
