Christmas just wouldn’t be Christmas without a large part of the festive period spent buried under 23014 blankets watching all eight of the Harry Potter films and wishing we could apparate to Hogwarts for a ginormous feast in the Great Hall.
Obviously, that’s not actually a possibility. One, because everyone knows it’s impossible to apparate within the walls of Hogwarts (duh) and two, ‘cause the Wizarding World is but a figment of JK Rowling’s brilliant imagination. Unfortunately.
But this December, the Warner Brother’s Studio Tour is offering us the next best thing.
From the 11th to 13th December guests will once again be able to attend a special Christmas Dinner in the Great Hall at The Making of Harry Potter studios. And it sounds spectacular.
After being greeted with welcome drinks and canapés on arrival, guests will then move into the Great Hall for a feast fit for the wizarding elite.
This year, the hall will be decorated just as it was for the Yule Ball in Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire – complete with snow covered Christmas trees, icicles and a magical orchestra.
Once guests have devoured their two-course Christmas Dinner, they’ll be invited to walk off all the delicious food (and make room for dessert) by visiting sets from the films including the Weasleys’ kitchen and the Gryffindor common room as part of the Christmas studio tour.
Dessert will then be served next to the Hogwarts Express on Platform 9 ¾, before heading off for a meander down Diagon Alley and sipping on a lovely tankard of Butterbeer in the backlot café.
In true Christmas party spirit, the Dinner in the Great Hall will end with music and dancing (hopefully not as awkward as the routine at the actual Yule Ball), plus the opportunity to buy more drinks at the bar provided.
Sounds bloody magical, right?
Tickets for the Studio Tour’s Dinner in the Great Hall will be on sale from 10am on Tuesday 24th October and cost £240pp. For more info, click here.
