A year after leaving the popular hospital drama Holby City, Chizzy Akudolu, who played the role of Mo Effanga has announced she will be returning to the show. Speaking on today's Loose Women, (14th August), Chizzy told the panel of Coleen Nolan, Gloria Hunniford and Anne Diamond, “Well, I’m back on Holby. It’s only for two months though.

She went to say how she loves the show and it was like 'going home' going on to say, "I’m really honoured to go back in.”

Chizzy's former Holby City co-star Rosie Marcel was also on the show and said it was, "Lovely [to have her back]. She’s just an amazing personality. She brings so much life to the set and it’s very dull without her. When she left I was actually really heartbroken because we have such a lovely friendship and such a great friendship on screen as well. We really cried. We couldn’t do that last speech at all."

Rosie and Chizzy then went on to reveal whether or not they could cope in a real emergency situation, see their response below...

Chizzy first appeared in Holby City back in 2012 during the 14th series of the show. She played the part of a consultant cardiothoracic surgeon and a member of Holby's transplant team. During the time she portrayed the character of Mo she was also nominated for a number of awards including in the Emerging Talent and Young Shooting Star category at the Screen Nation Film & Television Awards.

After leaving the programme last year, Chizzy went on to star in Strictly Come Dancing 2017, but was voted out in Week 2 of the competition. The series ended with Joe McFadden going one to win the Glitterball Trophy with his professional dance partner Katya Jones.
