This week, Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield returned to present This Morning, after a couple of months off for the summer. And now, the popular presenting couple have opened up about the future of their work on the show, with Phillip admitting he would like to continue to present for another 10 years, subject to good health.

Phillip, who is now 57-years-old, said, "I’d be quite happy [to continue], so long as I’m in good health and Holly is too," ahead of the show's 10th anniversary of the pair presenting together.

"It’s an evolving show," he continued, "You never know what direction it’s going to take, you know none of us know what direction life is going to take."

Holly, who has joined Phillip's side for the last 10 years also confirmed what her co-host said, "I hope it continues to be in people’s front room for the next 10 years. I hope it continues to grow, I feel that's a real strength of the show."

The show first launched back in 1988, with Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan presenting it, before they left in 2001 and Phillip took over in 2002 with Fern Britton. Phillip was later joined by Holly in 2009, with the pair presenting Monday - Thursday, and Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes taking over on Fridays.

Both Holly and Phillip have been a big part of making This Morning a very successful show, winning several awards over the years. This year, This Morning won the Daytime Programme NTA.

This exciting news comes as the pair return to the show after a couple of months off for the summer. During their time off, Holly Willoughby has been enjoying a holiday with her family, posting a photo of two of her children on the beach in Portugal, before returning back to the UK in time for her youngest child Chester's first day at school.
