It was The X Factor final this weekend, so we expected Honey G (probably the biggest talking point to come out the show ever) to make an appearance at some point. But we didn’t foresee her actually debuting her actual single live on the show.
The single is part of her record deal with Simon Cowell’s record deal, Syco, and many people have taken this to mean that she could even beat winner Matt Terry to Christmas number one.
Achieving the coveted Christmas number one spot is a tradition for X Factor winners (except that time Rage Against The Machine won lol).
BUT we can all breathe a big old sigh of relief (or disappointment, depending on how yer feeling), as the release date of the single - 23 December - apparently means she’ll be ineligible for the spot.
People were pretty bloody angry with her performance on Saturday. One person tweeted: "Why oh why has Honey G been allowed to release a single before the end of the tour, no one else in the past has been allowed…"
Another person wrote: "Why does it take over a year for The X Factor winner to release something but it takes Honey G 2 weeks."
Another added: "Honey G being allowed to perform tonight is a disgrace and disrespectful and unfair to the finalists."
