But that four year wait seems to be offically OVER as the creator of the hit Hunger Gamestrilogy Suzanne Collins has confirmed she has written another book, which will be released next year! This is AMAZING news. It might not be a film, but it's good enough.
She revealed the book will be released May 19th 2020 but is yet untitled.
Confirming the news on the offical Hunger Games Instagram account, Suzanne wrote, 'With this book, I wanted to explore the state of nature, who we are, and what we perceive is required for our survival.
She added, 'The reconstruction period ten years after the war, commonly referred to as the Dark Days—as the country of Panem struggles back to its feet—provides fertile ground for characters to grapple with these questions and thereby define their views of humanity'.
Whilst this isn't confirmation that there will be a film, it's highly likely one will be made, following the HUGE success of the three previous films, The Hunger Games, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, which have raked in nearly $3 billion since its release.

But it's sad news for fans as a prequel means Jennifer Lawrence, Chris Hemsworth or Josh Hutcherson will most likely not feature. Although, they'll be there in spirit no doubt.
