The friends and family of this year's I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here camp mates were spotted arriving in Australia yesterday, so it's no surprise the first eviction of the series is looming. But when Holly Willoughby and Dec Donnelly announced the FIRST eviction is TONIGHT (Friday 30th November) fans were left in shock!

After Dec left viewers of the show gutted yesterday when he revealed the series is already half-way through, Holly told the audience last night, "We’ll be back tomorrow at 9 where we’ll find out who is the first person to leave this year’s camp. I can’t believe they’re going already!"

The elimination announcement left fans in shock, with many thinking the first eviction would take place on Sunday following the 'Immunity Games'. Many viewers took to Twitter to express their disappointment that one of the 11 camp mates will be leaving.

One user wrote, 'That was quick? Campmates already being sent home #ImACeleb', with another adding, 'I can’t believe the first elimination is tomorrow, it’s way too quick?' [sic]

The presenters are on site super early

Because of the time difference between the UK and Australia the presenters - this year Dec Donnelly and Holly Willoughby - have to be on site incredibly early! Starting at 2.30am to do any voiceover work, they then have to go through the day's script and have their make-up done before being in the studio for 7am - which is when we see them on the live TV show in the UK.

The technology involved is huge

As we all know the I'm A Celebrity set is covered with cameras, recording all of the ins and outs of the celebs lives, however of course to make a TV programme out of it all, it needs to be edited. There are 13 edit suites used throughout the series. The 'nerve centre' of the production is in use 24 hours a day where the crew are logging the celebs actions and also speaking to any celebs who enter the Bush Telegraph.

The I'm A Celebrity set ISN'T in the middle of nowhere

From the looks of it, the I'm A Celebrity set is in the middle of nowhere, however it's actually in Springbrook National Park in a town called Murwillumbah in Queensland. Whilst the friends and family of the celebrities reportedly stay in the luxurious Palazzo Versace Hotel, the crew are based in the holiday resort of Coolangatta.

The are A LOT of bugs!

It's a good job that Holly Willoughby isn't a participant on I'm A Celebrity. Reports suggest that in each series of the show 250,000 cockroaches, 153,000 crickets, 2.5 million mealworms, 400 spiders, 500 rats and 30 snakes are bred.

Meanwhile, in other I'm A Celebrity news, ITV weather presenter Emma Jesson suggested that Ant McPartlin has been involved in this year's series, writing the live scripts for Holly and Dec.

She wrote on Twitter, 'I am informed that Ant was consulted for scripted Holly & Dec links for @imacelebrity series 2018 #imacelebrity #ImACeleb @Ant_McPartlin @antanddec ... top move production team if this is the case, can see his hallmarks there 👍👏👍🎉😀👏'. [sic]
