It’s funny, how TOWIE works. Like: on TOWIE, the stars of TOWIE are perfectly TOWIE-y. In real life, in our experience, the TOWIE stars are more than capable of saying three words in quick succession. And yet when you put some* TOWIE* stars in a studio and ask them to read exactly one line of text — in this example, “Welcome to ITVBe” — they get a lost, rabbit-in-the-headlights type look, and forget how to talk like a human. Just look at Jess Wright, Danielle Armstrong and Ferne McCann all trying to say three words in perfect unison in the new ITV Be trailer. Good, isn’t it? They just seem so… in sync. They are just exactly on each other’s level. Three minds, working as one. Beautiful to watch.
Anyway, it’s all to mark the launch of ITV’s new channel, ITVBe. The new digital offering — set to launch on 8 October — will be the new home of TOWIE, as well as a couple of Real Housewives titles and a new documentary starring Tamara Ecclestone and her small-face-on-a-large-head husband Jay Rutland.
The first night will be a gala event hosted by Peter Andre and Jamelia, and will see Joe Swash feature in the first episode of Celebrity Dinner Date before an hour-long TOWIE Ibiza special followed by a new TOWIE spin-off, TOWIE: All Back To Essex, which is hosted by the dreamteam of Denise van Outen and Mark Wright.
