There's only one word to describe Jake Gyllenhaal's transformation from his 2014 film Nightcrawler to 2015's Southpaw and that is: INSANE.
Yes, the 38-year-old actor dropped 30 pounds to play creepy paparazzi Lou Bloom in Nightcrawler, then returned to his normal weight and added 15 pounds of pure muscley muscle, according to his boxing trainer, Terry Claybon.
But that's not all. Jake Gyllenhaal was doing TWO-THOUSAND sit ups a day - one thousand in the morning and one thousand at night. When we manage three in a week we feel pretty chuffed with ourselves.

And apparently all of Jake's intense training led to him splitting with his model girlfriend, Alyssa Miller. In an interview with Deadline, the movie's director Antoine Fuqua, said: "Literally. I think he broke up with his girlfriend because he was just in the gym every day.
"He was training like a fighter. I had him sparring, really getting hit. I put him in situations where I wanted to see what he was made of. No one but fighters understand the sacrifice it takes to be a fighter."
Southpaw will hit cinemas (get it? Boxing... hit?) on 24 July.
