He's known for appearing on The X Factor, I'm a Celebrity and most recently Dancing On Ice, but now Jake Quickenden could be about to appear in a TV soap! Jake has confirmed in a recent interview with BANG Showbiz that he has been having informal talks with Hollyoaks bosses.
Jake told BANG Showbiz, "I've been acting for a bit. I've been doing lessons. If anything like that did come up like that obviously I'd go in and meet them." He went on to say, "I did chat to them and they asked me if I'd been doing acting lessons and I had. So if it came about that I had to go to a casting and learn the job that's what I'd be well willing to do."
Jake went on to say how he has always watched Hollyoaks, but if he gets a job he wants to be able to say, "I deserved it because I went through the right process".
Jake also revealed he would also like to star in Emmerdale which he said was his favourite soap, "My favourite soap is Emmerdale and my mate Danny Miller is on Emmerdale so I would love a go at that. I'd have to be a Dingle. There's always room for a Dingle," Jake explained.
Although nothing has been confirmed, this could be very exciting for the 29-year-old who found fame on The X Factor as a contestant in 2012 and 2014. Since appearing in The X Factor Jake then went on to appear in series 14 of I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here where he was a runner up in the same year that Carl "Foggy" Fogarty won the series.
After starring in I'm A Celebrity and becoming friends with Carl Fogarty he met his (now ex), fiancée Danielle Fogarty. Sadly earlier this year Jake shocked fans when he revealed that the pair had split. Appearing on Lorraine earlier this month, Jake revealed the pair are having time apart to focus on being busy.
He told Lorraine Kelly, "We're having a bit of time apart, kind of dealing with ourselves, and work, and being busy. I've got so much respect for Dan and her family and everything they've done. For me it's just about taking some time out and seeing what happens really."
He then added, "But like I said, there's not a bad word. I was with her on Monday, we still talk and I still love her to bits, but sometimes you've got to go away to come back."
