In our minds James Corden will always be Smithy from Gavin & Stacey, driving around in his van and perfecting the rap to Kanye and Estelle's American Boy with his sister Rudi AKA Sheridan Smith.

But a couple of years ago he swanned off to the States to make it big in America, taking over as host of The Late, Late Show and leaving us Brits behinds. At first we found it hard to forgive James for turning his back on his roots and jetting off for the glamorous hills of Hollywood, but then Carpool Karaoke came along and we quickly forgave him.

And now, rumour has it that James may be bringing his hit chat show back to the UK. YAAAAAAS.

Speaking to the Radio Times about the year ahead, James revealed: "We do have some stuff planned this year – which might involve being in the UK."

PLZ.

James was then quizzed about whether this meant broadcasting in the UK or a whole new British version of the show, to which he replied: "We're talking about it now, really.

"We don’t know if we'll be able to get it together but it's certainly something I'd love to do, for sure."

PLZ PLZ PLZ.

Apparently James already has some big names in mind for if and when the show – which is celebrating its second anniversary in the US – ventures across the pond. He mentioned that he's keen to get the likes of David and Victoria Beckham on board, as well as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Speaking about Kate and Wills he said: "I don't know if they ever would but that would be terrific."

Hmm, bit ambitious but we reckon if anyone could persuade them it would be James. He did manage to get Michelle Obama to rap with Missy Elliott…
