The Gavin and Stacey Christmas Special was pretty much the highlight of everyone's festive period last December. After almost 10 years, we got to see how our favourite TV characters had progressed in their lives, what had changed and what had stayed exactly the same.
Of course, with that huge cliffhanger at the end (no spoilers here!), fans are understandably calling for another special, if not another series. And after co-creator and co-star Ruth Jones AKA Nessa teased it could possibly happen, viewers of the show have been keeping their fingers firmly crossed.
However, her co-creator and co-star James Corden AKA Smithy has now poured cold water on those rumours, telling the BBC that it's not looking likely in the near future at the Oscars over the weekend.

Love Island: fans slam Natalia for ‘using’ Luke M following their split
He said, "I'm being completely honest, there are no plans to do any more because a lot of it is about time and distance. I think Ruth and I, if we ever were going to do any, we approach it in the same manner we did the last one to try and just do it on our own and see if we felt we had something that wouldn't ruin it.
"Because it's all well and good people saying that they would like another one, and that is hugely flattering, but they only want one that doesn't tarnish it in any way. So we're going to really try our best to give it some thought at the least, but there is no plans - as it stands right now - to ever make another one."

This comes after co-star Rob Brydon AKA Uncle Bryn revealed to heatworld that he'd rather the makers didn't write another series. He said, "It’s always my instinct and I said that before this special and I was very surprised then to see that they had written it.
"Everyone is saying, 'You must want to do more,' but I’d much rather leave it on a high and it’s really hard to come back after 10 years and to make something as popular as it has been because you can get it wrong."
