When you’re the rich heir to the McVitie’s biscuit fortune and a famous reality star, you’d think you’d be rather attractive to prospective lady friends.

But it seems things are rather different for Jamie Laing – the Made In Chelsea star says the show has ruined his love life.

Jamie, who attended Stand Up To Cancer's YouTube party this weekend, admits he struggles with romance as relationships haven’t exactly been straight forward for him after appearing on the series.

When asked if the programme has helped boost his confidence with women, he said: “No way. Made In Chelsea has made me less confident with women.

“I used to be so confident around girls and have all the chat but now I’m a bit older and have got the battle scars from relationships that have gone badly. I’m more cautious.”

It sounds as if things don’t get much better for Jamie, who has been dating MIC co-star Jess Woodley, and we will see heartbreak on the new series of the show, which starts on Monday.

He said: “I’ve got a lot of drama. There are a lot of relationship issues, and the Jess situation continues for a while.

“There’s going to be heartbreak. I’m not saying whose – it might be mine and it might be hers – but there’s a heartbreak.”

However, Jamie can still rely on his MIC pals to help him out when he’s in trouble and isn’t afraid to ask for help.

When asked who he goes to for advice, he said: “[Alex] Mytton! He’s my boy. He’s one of my best friends and just tells you exactly what you need to hear.

“I’d go to Mytton for advice, but Spenny [Spencer Matthews] would be the person I go to for a cry. He’s the one I go and see if things are really bad.”

Jamie has been at the Stand Up To Cancer YouTube Party, a unique 12-hour live-streamed event raising money to accelerate new cancer treatments and tests and ultimately save lives.
