Jay James says ‘most hated contestant’ claims are ‘b******s’!

The 31-year-old’s exit was overshadowed by claims he was the competition’s ‘most hated’ singer.

And not just for this year. Oh no, insiders claimed James was the most hated ever to have taken part in the X Factor which has been on TV for a decade, with one saying: James “is becoming an absolute nightmare behind the scenes.”

When heat caught up with Jay yesterday, we asked him about those rumours and he wasn’t happy.

“It's total bcks and I was really upset by it,” he told heat. “I genuinely hope that people have seen enough of me to know that I'm not that type of person and I wouldn't condone that bull*t.

“I was gutted. I was made aware of it on Sunday morning and it crushed me. I'm a massive people person, I really am, and I hate seeing people upset. Throughout this competition there have been people in that position and I've been the first one to comfort them, so to find myself in that position… I was like, 'What the f**k?'”

But Jay added how he felt it was his time to go and that the rumours about his behaviour only added to it, saying: “It confirmed to me that it might be my time to go now because I'm not down for that sort of stuff, I'm not that type of a person.

“Weirdly, it was another little sign to me that I should take the positives and go and do some good things.”

Jay’s now hoping to release some new material but won’t be rushing into anything.

And although he loves his 'best mate' Stevi Richie, he doubts he'll be taking the X Factor crown.
