Lady Gaga is set to play Donatella Versace in an upcoming series of American Crime Story.
The first series of the Ryan Murphy show, The People Vs. OJ Simpson, starred Cuba Gooding Jr as OJ and David Schwimmer as Rob Kardashian and was a huge success both in the US and the UK.
The second series hasn’t even aired yet but Lady Gaga – real name Stefani Germanotta – is being lined up to take on the role of Donatella in the third series, which will focus on the murder of the designer’s brother Gianni Versace.
US Weekly reports that show bosses are keen to get the singer on board due to her resemblance and close personal bond with Donatella.
The series will be based on the book Vulgar Favours by Maureen Orth.
Gianni, who founded the world famous House of Versace, was shot and killed outside his Miami Beach home in 1997 by serial killer Andrew Cunanan.
