You’ll probably be aware that autumn television is lit AF.
We’ve got The X Factor, The Apprentice, Doctor Foster, Strictly Come Dancing – and new series Liar.
The six-part drama ITV drama, which concludes TONIGHT, PEOPLE, has us completely obsessed, and we’re waiting with baited breath to hear of confirmation for series 2.
Will there be a second series of Liar?
While it hasn’t been explicitly announced that there will be a new series, but it’s been heavily hinted by producers and stars of the show.
A source said: “Explaining the characters would appeal to fans who’ll be intrigued to see what underlying experiences sparked their actions. Bosses feel it would be the best direction to go in.
“The vision is already there for this to continue beyond series one. The hope was always that this show could become a major drama for ITV, and that looks to be happening,” they continued to The Sun.
“The wheels are already in motion for it to come back.”
What will happen at the end of Liar?
Joanne Froggart, who plays Laura Nielson, told Radio 2: “There’s definitely a satisfying conclusion to this series at the end, I promise.
“You won’t invest six hours and be disappointed. It won’t let you down.
"But there’s also a bit of an offshoot that makes for a possible furthering of the story, should it be successful.”
She added: “But there’s an absolute conclusion to this one.”
What’s Liar about?
Liar is about a woman called Laura (played by Joanne Froggart), who is drugged and raped by a man called Andrew while they’re on a date together.
He denies the allegations, and Andrew accuses Laura of lying.
When does Liar finish?
The six-part series ends next Monday (16 October) at 9PM on ITV.
