It's been rumoured for years, with fans urging David Walliams and Matt Lucas to write new episodes, but now it's been confirmed that the pair will return with popular sitcom Little Britain, as part of the upcoming Big Night In telethon on the BBC.
For the first time ever, Comic Relief and Children In Need will join together for a special appeal called The Big Night In, which will air on BBC One on Thursday 23rd April, and now it's been announced that Little Britain will be part of it.
It's not yet been revealed which famous characters from the show will be making an appearance, and both Matt and David are keeping their plans under wraps, but whatever it is, we can't wait to see the funny sketches return to our screens next week.
The news comes after Matt Lucas appeared on The One Show last week, where he teased fans about a potential comeback for the show.
Chatting via a video link, the new Great British Bake Off host said, "David and I message each other most days and send each other those silly memes. We are getting on well and we are thinking about what we can do with Little Britain."
"But we don't know what it will be. Could it be a podcast? Could it be on TV? Could it be a stage show?"
Back in December last year, Britain's Got Talent judge David appeared on This Morning, where he also teased a potential remake of the show.
When asked by hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, David said, "We might do. We're just talking about it at the moment. Matt Lucas has his last night in Les Misérables – the stage show – tonight, so we’re meeting up very soon and talking about our future plans."
