Louis Walsh ‘facing axe from X Factor in favour of Robbie Williams’

The X Factor seems to be going through a right old shake up – just days after Dermot O’Leary announced he was leaving as host of the show it’s emerged Louis Walsh also faces the chop.

Judge Louis is reportedly facing the axe after Simon Cowell and show bosses decided the series needed a boost in ratings.

A younger replacement is apparently set to be brought on board and Robbie Williams is said to be at the top of the list.

A source told the Daily Star Sunday: “Simon is planning major changes for this year’s X Factor and one of them is getting rid of Louis.

“It is not 100% finalised yet but Simon knows he needs to make the show current and credible and Louis no longer ticks that box.

“It is hard for him personally as they are great friends. But the decision is all but done.”

This is not the first time Louis has found himself in trouble on The X Factor – he was sacked in 2007 and replaced by show choreographer Brian Friedman but was brought back after a few weeks by Simon.

And it’s not just Louis who faces losing his place on the judging panel.

The source added: “Simon will be coming back but Cheryl [Fernandez-Versini] and Mel [B] have to fight for their seats.”
