Louis Walsh is rumoured to be facing the axe from the X Factor as the show undergoes a shake-up but has he actually already quit? The music boss says he’s had enough of the talent contest.
The Irish star has been on the panel of the programme for 11 years but says he wants to go back to managing acts.
He told TV3: “I think I’m done with X Factor honestly. My day job is as a manager, I’ve kind of neglected that. I want to get back to being a manager.
“I’m working with [former Westlife singer] Shane Filan, he’s got a new record coming out, and I’m working with [boyband] Hometown. I’d like to get back to where I started off... I never wanted to be on TV, it just happened.”
Does he know something we don’t? Has he already been given the chop and is just softening the blow for fans?
This wouldn’t be the first time Louis has been sacked from the series – in 2007 he was replaced by choreographer Brian Friedman but was brought back after just a few weeks by head honcho Simon Cowell.
And it seems he thinks the same could happen again, saying: “I’ve done 11 seasons. That’s a long time on television. I think they’re going to change it, go for a few new faces.”
We’ll miss you, Louis!
