That break lasted long

In case you missed last night's Love Island episode, Chris Hughes and Olivia Attwood have officially gone on a break.

We mean, they still slept in the same bed, sat around in the same smoking area and hung out with the same friends, which is hardly what we'd call a break… but there you go.

And we can't say we didn’t see it coming, tbh. The nation's sassiest couple have been arguing on and off for weeks, and in a poll on Love Island Aftersun last night, 79 per cent of the public said they thought they'd never work.

But tonight's episode seems to suggest that there might be a silver lining in sight for the on-off couple, as we see Liv tell Montana Brown that she's struggling not to snog the villa's resident 'polar bear.'

“The problem is, I look at his little blonde pea head and I just want to smother him in kisses," she says. "As much as he annoys me, that feeling never goes away… But if I start holding a conversation or making people laugh or telling stories about my life, he gets up and walks away because he’s so uninterested and finds me annoying.”

Oh Liv, give the boy a chance!

And speaking to Chris later that day, it seems like he's also keen to get things back to normal.

“I completely understand 100 per cent why we had this break, well this space, from each other because it gives each other a bit of thinking time,” he tells her. “At the end of the day we’re both big personalities and we’re both similar people… sometimes I compete with you and I shouldn’t.

"I should let you do your thing… I love you for exactly who you are. You can make me laugh, you’re funny, your personality is ridic and you’re stunning so there are three boxes there out of three you’ve ticked. I just want us to move forward and put that all behind us.”

Awww. We just can't cope with how often the L word is being thrown around on Love Island at the moment. It's making us feel single AF!

Will Liv and Chris resolve their differences and get back together?

We hope so… because if Ross and Rachel taught us anything in Friends is that a break always ends in drama!
