Love Island bosses have confirmed they are in "constant contact" with Caroline Flack following her decision to step down as host of the show, after she was arrested and charged with assault by beating for allegedly assaulting her boyfriend Lewis Burton.
They've also revealed the "door is open" for her to return to the hit ITV2 dating show if she wants to.

"We are in constant contact and the door is open."
The news of Caroline's potential future return comes after her replacement Laura Whitmore flew out to South Africa to start preparing for the new series which starts in two days.

Speaking to Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on yesterday's episode of This Morning, the 34-year-old spoke about her reaction to getting the job and Caroline's response.
She said, "When Caroline stepped down she actually sent me a text message saying, 'I really hope you get to do this series.'

"It was before Christmas and I was flying back to Ireland because it was my mum's birthday. I was at the airport and I got a phone call from my agent saying the producers of ITV would like to meet with you for a meeting in a few hours. I thought, I'm at the airport, it's my mum's birthday, so I can't make that meeting."
The presenter, whose boyfriend is Love Island narrator Iain Stirling, continued, "Then I thought, hold on a minute I'll ring up Mammy Whitmore, which I did.
"I said, 'How do you feel if I come tomorrow instead of today.' And she said that was ok. Thankfully, that's why I'm here now."
