Family and friends of Love Island’s Georgia Steel release statement after last night’s HEARTBREAKING episode

Last night's episode of Love Island was savage to say the least. While there was happy moments - like Jack and Dani reuniting, and Wes receiving some much needed karma - there was also one very sad moment: Josh breaking Georgia's heart.

Georgia Steel remained loyal to Josh - who she admits to REALLY liking and seeing a future with - while they were separated in different villas. Meanwhile, Josh was busy parading around the villa with new girl Kaz. Uh oh.

As we had all predicted, the Josh, Kaz and Georgia Love Island love triangle ended with Josh choosing Kaz, leaving a heartbroken Georgia single. Not cool.

Last night, Twitter erupted with outrage at this decision, and Josh has basically become more hated than Adam Collard.

Georgia's family and friends (who are running her social media accounts while she's in the villa) also chipped in with their thoughts and opinions on last night's show:

They tweeted: "3, 2, 1 and breathe.... proud doesn't cover our emotions for this beautiful girl. She is so brave and although that was heart breaking to watch we know she will only grow stronger from this.

"From all of us here at Team Gee thank you for your love and support for our girl. She told us when she left she'll be thinking of us and that we're always in her heart, tonight she's in the hearts of the nation and we will all have her back ❤ #loveisland #teamgeorgia"
