The Love Island stars just don’t seem to want to say goodbye to life on camera.
First Jonny Mitchell was rumoured to enter this year’s I’m A Celebrity - and now his nemesis Muggy Mike is said to be in “early talks” with bosses for the series, which is returning to ITV later this year.
After both Geordie Shore’s Vicky Pattison and TOWIE’s Ferne McCann made the final in 2015, bosses decided they wanted more “credible” names for 2016, banning reality stars from the show.
But what happens if you take away the reality stars? Everyone gets on, apparently. The lack of reality stars in last year’s series, won by Gogglebox’s Scarlett Mofatt, seemed to lead to less drama, causing bosses to have a change of heart.
A source told The Sun: “The show got a real ribbing for the amount of airtime Vicky and Ferne received in 2015.
“Both were great but there was a feeling some of the older contestants weren’t getting a chance to impress.
“But reality stars create more social media buzz and also attract younger viewers. Mike is having early talks but the fact he’s even being considered shows a real change of tack.”
After all the drama Mike Thalassitis caused in the Love Island villa, it’s pretty likely he’d pull some muggy moves in the jungle too.
A number of reality stars have starred on the show in previous years, including TOWIE’s Gemma Collins, Joey Essex and Mark Wright, as well as Made In Chelsea’s Spencer Matthews.
Who will be next for I’m A Celeb bosses to approach? Ex of both Mike and Jonny, TYLA CARR?
