If you weren't haven't been hiding under a rock, then you've probably watched the INCREDIBLE Britain's Got Talent performances by mind-reader and magician X, who was revealed to be Marc Spelmann, Ant and Dec's Golden Buzzer act from 2018.

He capitvated the entire nation with his emotional performance, which had the BGT judges and presenter Ant in tears! But just who is this mystery magician? heatworld has found out ALL of the information you could possibly need to know...

Who is Marc Spelmann?

Marc Spelmann is a mind-reader and magician extraordinaire. Since the early 1990s, he's been performing magic tricks for audiences all over the world. He's also a firm believer in “real magic”, something that he mentions in his audition.

He appeared on the first episode of Britain's Got Talent 2018, and wowed all four judges with his incredibly moving performance, which involved his wife and daughter Isabella. He moved Ant to tears, and as a result, he won Ant and Dec's golden buzzer! His audition has now received a whopping 16 MILLION views on YouTube, making him an internet sensation.

Marc - who describes himself as "a besotted father and so called Mystery Artist who blurs reality with magic, mind reading & illusion" - performed a spectacular magic trick involving a Rubik’s cube, a children’s toy, his wife's Harry Potter book and a coloured crayon. He seemingly predicted an array of outcomes involving each BGT judge, and left the whole nation in awe. Now, he's the bookies joint favourite with father-son duo Jack and Tim to win.

Was Marc Spelmann on Britain's Got Talent 2019?

Yes, Marc Spelmann was on Britain's Got Talent 2019. Although he didn't get through to the final in 2018, that didn't put him off entering the competition again. In 2019, he auditioned as the mysterious performer X, who hadn't spoken or shown his face throughout the competition. After his grand final performance on Britain's Got Talent, he revealed his true identity and shocked fans. In fact, it was thought to be the biggest plot twist that Britain's Got Talent has ever seen. We ourselves were SHOOK.

Marc ended up coming second in the competition behind pensioner Colin Thackery.

Marc's wife Tessa is the owner of two award-winning beauty salons in North London called Tessa Stevens Health & Beauty Clinic.

After five years of trying IVF to conceive a baby, she was sadly diagnosed with an aggressive form breast cancer. But, she kicked cancer's ass two years ago and gave birth to her gorgeous baby Isabella. The couple have been together for a WHOPPING 16 years. Awww.

Who is Marc Spelmann's daughter?

Marc Spelmann's daughter Isabella played a key role in his BGT audition. Conceived via IVF (she was a frozen embryo for one year!) and having survived her mum Tessa's chemotherapy treatment, Isabella was born on 23rd December 2015, and her birth changed Marc and Tessa's lives forever.

What happened to Marc Spelmann's family?

Marc and Tessa had been trying for a baby for over five years, and had several failed IVF attempts. After five years of trying, Tessa finally fell pregnant with Isabella in 2015. But, tragedy struck when she discovered she had breast cancer.

Tessa went through months of gruelling chemotherapy with Marc by her side, and on December 23rd 2015, she gave birth to their daughter Isabella, who was born prematurely. Tessa then continued her cancer treatment and was thankfully given the all clear shortly after. Both mum and daughter are now healthy, yay!

What is Marc Spelmann planning for the semi-finals?

Speaking exclusively to heatworld, Marc gave us a BIG hint about what tricks he'll be doing in his semi-finals BGT performance: "I'm rehearsing a piece that was inspired by six words that Tessa [my wife] said to me literally two-and-a-half years ago. I really hope you enjoy it.

"I'm so grateful for all of the support I have received so far and really hope that everyone enjoys my semi-finals performance. It's my dream to get through to the finals and share my final piece to the jigsaw puzzle."

Marc is an extraordinary magician and illusionist, and can perform an array of magic tricks. The short showreel below taken from his YouTube channel shows him bending spoons (say WHAT?!) and performing some seemingly impossible close-up magic tricks. WOWZA.

On top of performing for BGT judges Alesha Dixon, Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and David Walliams, Marc has performed for celebrities including Adele, Richard Branson and Vic Reeves. Next up, the Queen!

Marc Spelmann appeared on This Morning alongside Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on Monday 16th April, to talk about his audition on BGT and his wife's battle with cancer.

He also performed a magic trick for the presenting duo, where he asked Phillip and Holly to think of a character in their heads. He then played a video clip of Isabella guessing which character's the presenters had chosen (Darth Vader and Peppa Pig, obvs). Just HOW does he do it?!

What will Marc Spelmann spend his BGT money on?

Marc told The Daily Star that he would spend thee £250,000 Britain's Got Talent prize money on "having some security for our daughter Isabella and clearing debts as IVF is expensive and I stopped working whilst Tessa was pregnant and fighting cancer. We were desperate to be parents and would have happily adopted.

"I love magic. It doesn’t always pay the bills but it’s what I do best." Well, we wish him good luck!
