Before you think THEY DON'T EVEN GO HERE, let's give them a chance.

So the poster for the musical shows, from left to right, Kate Rockwell as Karen Smith, Taylor Louderman as queen bee Regina George and Ashley Park as Gretchen Wieners.

Just to recap, the originals were Rachel McAdams playing Regina, Amanda Seyfried playing Karen and Lacey Chabert playing Gretchen.

The original Mean Girls movie was written by Tina Fey – who features in the film as Ms Norbury – and she had the idea to work on a stage adaptation around five years ago with her husband Jeff Richmond.

He’s also a composer, which is pretty handy.

Speaking about her new Plastics, Tina told EW: “Taylor Louderman not only has this giant voice and great comic timing, but she instinctively understood the idea of Regina George, that there’s power in making people come to you.

“Kate Rockwell so quickly found the zone of the sweetness that’s at the core of Karen.

“And Ashley has this incredible, beautiful voice, but also this nice timing and this fragility of Gretchen, because Gretchen’s, like…just barely hanging on to her status and her sanity.”

And what about the music? Sadly, there’s no song called Fetch, but according to Tina it’s all very catchy – she says the songs make the show.

The highly-anticipated musical will have a test run in Washington DC’s National Theatre from October 31 to December 1 2017, then open in Broadway three months later on April 8 2018 at the August Wilson Theatre.
