Although My Mum, Your Dad series two has come to an end, fan favourites Danny, 49, and Jenny, 51, still have butterflies for each other.

The couple took time out of their love bubble to chat to heat about their experience on the show and their new-found fame, all of which they owe to Danny’s son Ellis, 21, and Jenny’s son, Malachi, 19…

How has life changed since the show?

Danny: It’s been unbelievably busy. So many people are reaching out to us on Instagram – I never dreamed that the feedback would be so positive, and the messages have been really touching. We’ve had quite a few meetings in London, but we’ll get off the train and our 10-minute walk will take us 40 because of the amount of photos we have to stop for, and all the people wishing us well. It’s crazy.

Jenny: I’ve been quite shocked by how many people have said how much our story resonated with them, all the ups and the downs – everyone’s had the same challenges.

What’s your biggest takeaway from the retreat?

D: For me, it was to open up. I’ve always been very insular, and I don’t really open up with my guy friends. So, after being forced to tell my story, a day or two later, I’d be thinking, ‘Actually, I feel so much better for doing it and getting it off my chest.’ Learning to be open was the biggest change that I got from the whole experience.

How did you feel knowing your children were watching you go on dates?

J: I was really keen for my son to have input on something that I’ve got wrong so many times. To have someone I trust, who knows me very well, to help me and guide mein that decision.

D: I was more concerned about what Malachi would think of me once Jenny and I had started this relationship. At the time, you don’t think about it, and then you lay in bed thinking, ‘How did I behave? Would he have seen me put my hand on her?’ Because he’s a big lad.

Jenny, you’ve partnered with JD Williams –how did you find shooting the campaign?

J: It was great being with all the other women from the retreat. It felt empowering, like a celebration of women. I’m quite a self-conscious person, so I think having the girls there on that photo shoot really made it enjoyable.
