A LOT has happened in the months since we were cruelly deprived of the Great British Bake Off as we know it. We got to meet the one and only Honey G on The X Factor, there's been an EPIC series of Celebrity Big Brother, and Celebs Go Dating returned and was just as great as we remembered.

BUT nothing has quite managed to fill the void left by Mary Berry, Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins (we're going to be seeing more of Paul Hollywood, though) when it was announced that GBBO would be leaving the BBC and setting up home on Channel 4.

The fact that the last series was made 3055592592 times better by the likes of the coolest baker ever, Selasi Gbormittah and all-round legend Val Stones (read all about her Twitter convo with Ed Sheeran) just made the news of the shake-up that bit more traumatic.

Anyway, there's been lots of talk over who could possibly fill Mary's choux (geddit?) as a new judge on the Channel 4 show and one name that's been flying around for some time is Prue Leith.

Prue is a 76-year-old restaurateur, writer and food campaigner from South Africa, who now lives and works in London.

And according to The Sun, she's set to sign a huge £200,000 deal with Channel 4 for the new series, a significantly larger sum than the £70,000 deal Mary and Paul reportedly singed with the BBC.

A source told the newspaper: "Prue is a cooking legend and has a lot of respect in the food world.

"The BBC were really under-paying both Mary and Paul during their time on the show.

"Bake Off had a relatively low budget which didn’t increase even as its popularity went through the roof.

"That meant the stars were left on very low salaries in relation to the show’s huge success."
