Nick Grimshaw has come under fire for his abilities as an X Factor judge since joining the show this year.
Not least from the very person he replaced, Louis Walsh.
But he has a fan in the form of Xtra Factor co-host Melvin Odoom, who says the BBC Radio 1 DJ is “set to explode” during the live shows.
The television presenter, who appears alongside The Saturdays singer Rochelle Humes on X Factor's ITV2 spin-off show, insists Nick is doing a great job on the panel.
Melvin told the Daily Star: “The world is giving him a hard time but he’s doing a great job.
“When it comes to live shows, he’s going to blow up. He’s naturally a funny person; he hasn’t had time to shine yet.”
Nick’s boss Simon Cowell recently insisted the broadcaster's job on the show was safe despite Louis Walsh reportedly returning as a neutral judge during the live rounds.
The music mogul recently told the Daily Mirror: “I did say to Nick beforehand, ‘If it all comes on top you know what the score is. You will get good weeks and not so good weeks.’
“I think he is tough and he gets it. I think he’s doing good.
“Is he being sidelined for Louis? No chance, forget it. He is 100% safe.”

Cheryl's Adam Lippes tuxedo dress may cost over £1k, but that's nothing compared to a lifetime of dry cleaning bills. Just beware of Nando's, eh Chez?
Rita Ora
B*Witched would be soooo jealous of these denim co-ords. Rita continues to show off her risky fash sense on the red carpet

Poor Rita must've accidentally got stuck in a door or been attacked by a pack of dogs on the way to the auditions. We can think of no other possible explanation for that missing sleeve
