Is Nicky Byrne the new Xtra Factor host?

Fresh from his shock Eurovision semi-final exit in Stockholm over the weekend, which was pretty harsh, tbh – Westlife's Nicky Byrne has had some pretty good news.

He's reportedly been shortlisted to be one of the faces lined up to present this year's Xtra Factor.

WA-HOOOO.

And it all seems pretty legit.

Just last week, Nicole Sherzinger was "rumoured" to be heading back to her spot on the judging panel, which turned out to be true as her pal/boss Andrew Lloyd Webber sensationally revealed that she had left her role in the musical Cats to take up Simon Cowell's offer.

Thanks to an extreme shake-up, which has seen Olly Murs, Caroline Flack, Nick Grimshaw, Cheryl AND Rita Ora exit the show, a revamp of the presenters on The Xtra Factor spin-off may just be on the cards too.

A source told the Irish Mail: "A number of people are being considered for the position and Nicky is on that list. He has plenty of experience on camera and has a great profile in England, which is a real plus...

"It is all about the chemistry. If they find someone who works with him he has a real chance at landing the gig."

However, news that Nicky has found his way onto the hotlist won't sit too well with last year's presenters Rochelle Humes and Melvin Odoom, as they're still hoping show boss Simon Cowell will ask them to return for the next series.

Speaking to BANG Showbiz recently, Rochelle said: "I'm not sure if we're going to get called back to The Xtra Factor.

"Obviously, me and Melv had a ball doing it but Xtra Factor is always last minute. I got booked like literally two weeks before I started filming last year so it's not normal to know that yet anyway. I'll probably find out in about a months."

We wouldn't mind seeing Nicky's face on the telly every weekend, that's for sure.
