The news that The Great British Bake Off, as we knew it, was ending hit us all like a ton of bricks.

Don’t even try and pretend like it didn’t affect you.

However we are here today to brighten your day and alert you to the fact that Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry – the shows true hosts – may be reuniting on our screens once again.

Well, in the US, that is.

But still, they might be coming back together and that is one of the best things we’ve heard since 2017 began.

Mary Berry presented The Great American Baking Show (see what they did there?) in the US alongside My Big Fat Greek Wedding's Nia Vardalos and her husband Ian Gomez.

This sounds like a presenter-concoction we would LOVE to see and we will be tuning in imminently.

And executives at US network ABC were supposedly so impressed with Mary's Great American Baking Show that it's likely to return.

And in even better news, there is the possibility that Paul with be in tow.

A source told The Sun: “The Great American Baking Show did really well in the ratings and execs love the British accent.”

“They may want to get the pair back together again for their on-screen chemistry. There would also be a lot of interest here and a UK channel would probably show it for the first time.”

Phew. That means it should be on our screens if it ever does happen.

You can now breathe a sigh of relief – you might be getting your Hollywood/Berry fix in 2017.

Of course, Paul will obviously still be judging The Great British Bake Off when it moves to Channel 4 this year.

In other TV news, Celebrity Big Brother has officially started again and there is SO much going on already.

Excitingly, Calum Best has been put in the house with his MUM and Ray J had already shaded Kanye West.

And if you want to know more about Calum Best, look no further.
