On the seismic scale of shocks, Pete Wicks text cheating on Megan McKenna is pretty much up there with Brangelina divorcing.
Pete was our great, orange hope for Essex manhood. He prided himself on being a gentleman. We hadn't even seen him have a relationship on TOWIE (other than the abortive one with Jessica Wright that went precisely nowhere after she tongued Lewis Bloor of the enormous and hairless peen), let alone cheat on anyone.
But Pete didn't just let himself down, he let us down too. Oh, and Megan. Her too.
And now Pete has been spied heading to film what are thought to be his first scenes with Megan since the big bust-up (that was filmed for TOWIE).
And he looks pretty downhearted (read: shitting himself).
Will the two be able to sort things out?
Megan said, in a heart-wrenching Snapchat at the weekend: "I actually found some messages on Pete’s phone a few weeks ago and they weren’t good but I thought I’d give him another chance, as I feel like everyone deserves a second chance.
"The way that he was speaking to me was that he was really sorry and didn’t mean it. Obviously it’s not right that he was messaging other girls but he told me it was just innocent flirting."
But, although they got over that hurdle, it seems that Megan wasn't aware of the extent of the explicit messages. Speaking of Jacquie Hyland selling her story, Megan said:
"But then like, today, for some girl to sell a story about it, and for me to see messages that I hadn’t seen before. That f*ing hurts."
Megan has now deleted all pictures of Pete's face from her Instagram account. The one of his wrist, wearing a matching Rolex to the one he bought her as a birthday gift , remains.
