The dude-who-wears-big-hats Pharrell Williams sang Gust Of Wind and the girl-who-has-dated-most-male-celebrities, Taylor Swift sang Shake It Off on The X Factor tonight.

The first 16 acts took to the stage for the opening round of live shows this evening last night. The contestants performed to the studio stage in a live broadcast ahead of tonight’s double-elimination.

Lots of drama this weekend with the wildcard group announced and sister-duo Blonde Electric to Blonde Electra, dramatic change we know. They made it through to the final 12 of the ITV show with the quartet Only The Young and the five-piece wildcard boys, Overload Generation.

On tonight’s show speaking to Dermot O’Leary after his performance, Pharrell said performing at London’s O2 was “unbelievable”.

“I just did two nights at The O2 and I can’t tell you how amazing it felt,” said the Happy singer as he reminisced over the last 15 years of his career.

The Drop It Like It’s Hot singer was also very pleased with Lauren Platt’s performance of his super-selling song, Happy.

Taylor also spoke to Dermot explaining how she’d been listening to a lot of 80s music lately, which is influencing her music career. “I’m a huge 80s fan. I like The Eurythmics, Madonna…”
