We’ve written a number of odd stories in our time - P Diddy laughing in the face of Liam Payne when they met, the existence of these festival thong shorts, Mary Berry getting arrested for drug smuggling – and we can now add the royal family being worried about a sex scene in an upcoming lifetime movie about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to the ever-expanding list.
Yes. This story is as ridiculous as it sounds.
If you’re a fan of classic royal family-based Lifetime movies (and who isn’t?), you’ll probably be aware that Harry and Meghan: A Royal Romance is due for release soon.
The film reportedly contains a sex scene in which the actors playing Harry and Meghan get steamy. Nawty.
And, according the film director Menhaj Huda, the Royal Family are ‘worried’ about it.
He told Vanity Fair: ‘What I’ve heard is that they’re seriously worried about the sex scene.”
And Menhaj has an extremely reliable source for his claim.
“My wife’s best friend has been dating the press secretary of the palace”.
This comes after producer Merideth Finn joked during a panel discussion: “Let them worry. People have sex”.
Thomas Mace-Archer-Mills, The Chairman of the British Monarchist Society (WHAT a job title), recently expressed his concern over the film, saying: “Common decency has been violated. The scene showing the couple naked in bed is the ultimate appeal to those who are drawn in by such filth and perversion.”
We think Thomas needs to calm down.
Harry and Meghan: A Royal Romance airs on Lifetime on 14 May. And we will definitely be watching it.
