Is this the REAL reason Mason Noise missed The X Factor final?

Mason Noise always was a bit of a livewire after throwing his microphone to the ground and storming off stage during the Six Chair Challenge stage of The X Factor.

So we were left wondering if he’d thrown another strop when we noticed he was missing from the finalists’ group performance during Sunday’s live final of the show.

But it seems there’s (a little bit) more to it than that – he simply didn’t show up.

A source told Digital Spy: “He just didn’t turn up.”

We can’t imagine it’s the kind of thing that would slip your mind so a cryptic tweet he posted on Sunday night might have something to do with it.

He wrote: “I stand for what I believe in #AWE.”

Despite not appearing on the television this weekend, Mason still managed to cause a stir with his controversial ways.

The aspiring pop star posted a picture of himself with One Direction’s Liam Payne on Instagram and claimed Liam was just one of Harry Styles’ backing singers.

He wrote: “One of the highlights of my experience, meeting one of Harry Styles’ backing singers.”

The message didn’t go down well with 1D fans.

One tweeted: “You literally don’t know your s**t since Liam is the king of vocals but okkk continue to use this as your 13 minutes of fame.”

Another wrote: “So immature... Liam is the most talented in that band and this is how you treat him?”

Someone else posted: “When you’re not relevant enough and you gotta to something for attention.”
