Geordie Shore has been with us for a jaw-dropping five years, and heat has been there from the very first blowie (Holly Hagan on Gary Beadle, series one episode one, as you asked).

Sure, there have been fights, humiliations and some very unwise hairstyles galore but it's always looked like a right hoot from where we're sat.

But Ricci Guarnaccio reckons not.

He spoke to heatworld about Geordie Shore: Big Birthday Battle and why he didn't have a good time when he originally appeared on the show.

Ricci Guarnaccio

"The last time I was in the house was for series two, three, four and five and I didn’t really get to enjoy the experience because I was in a relationship."

Oooh, burn for Vicky Pattison. Buuuurn.

Fans will recall that Vicky took a shine to Ricci the moment he walked into the house and the pair fast became a couple.

Their relationship could best be described as tempestuous.

"There were a LOT of fights shown between me and Vicky," Ricci admitted.

"Being in that house, it’s a pressure cooker and add that to drinking every day and, well…

"But looking back now, it's made me a better person, it's made me grow up."

The experience hasn't put Ricci off being a housemate again though and he's taking part in the Big Birthday Battle that sees 16 housemates fight it out to be crowned kings and queens of partying.

In fact, the only housemates who don't return are Vicky, Greg Lake and Rebecca Walker.

And the lack of Vicky could be one of the reasons that Ricci gets himself involved in ANOTHER house romance. Oh, Ricci.

"I'm not telling you which one, but one of the girls was after me quite a lot in the series," he told us.

But heat knows that the woman he means is Marnie Simpson because *HEAT *KNOWS ALL.

So, Ricci manages to have a good time in this special at least?

"MTV are crazy for having us all back in but honestly it is definitely the best series yet.

"I never thought that I would ever go back to Geordie Shore, and so going back, being in the house, it was emotional."

Bring. It. On.

Geordie Shore: Big Birthday Battle begins on Tuesday 10 May at 10pm on MTV.
