Rita Ora: ‘I can’t wait to get started on The X Factor!’

Rita Ora is having a pretty good year so far. She’s been named as an* X Factor* judge, released her hit track Poison and today she was crowned Best Female at the Silver Clef Awards. Not too shabby, eh?

When heat caught up with Rita on the red carpet, she was pretty jetlagged – having come straight off her plane to the awards – but she couldn’t hide her excitement when we asked her about taking up her new role.

“It’s going to be great and it’s going to be fun,” Rita told us. “The one important thing is that we find talent and we have fun. That’s all it is.”

But why did she choose The X Factor over The Voice? Remember, everyone, it had nothing to do with the money. Nothing at all.

“[It was] definitely something that had to fit in with my timetable and schedule. It just worked for me you know, and the experience I had on The Voice was surreal.”

Before she headed off to get her award, we asked Rita what she liked to do to relax now she’s probably one of the busiest women in showbiz. And it turns out, she just loves to relax with her adorable dog.

“I just hang out at home and just stroke my dog really,” Rita said. “I eat some food and just chill out. First of all I’m going to have to go and actually have a shower because I just landed and came straight here. But it’s alright, you know I’m making it work.”
