Earlier this weeks The CW network revealed everyone’s fave teen drama Riverdale had been renewed for a third series and we’re absolutely buzzing.
“Order another round of milkshakes! #Riverdale is renewed for Season 3 on The CW!” a tweet posted on the official Riverdale Twitter account confirmed.
The news was announced as the network released its Fall schedule for the 2018-19 season, which saw a third Riverdale instalment as well as nine other The CW shows (including Dynasty and Jane The Virgin).
So, here’s what we know so far:
Which cast members will return for Riverdale season 3?
Although the cast for the new series has not yet been revealed, and we’re yet to find out the gang’s fate in the run up to the season two finale, several of the stars have taken to social media to share their excitement about the renewal.
Cole Sprouse, who plays Jughead Jones, wrote: “Congrats to the amazing cast and crew of #riverdale for a season 3!”
Camilla Mendes – aka Veronica Lodge – tweeted a snap of her castmates, with the caption: “season threee babyyy #riverdale
And Veronica’s on-screen mum, actress Marisol Nichols wrote: “Hey everyone @CW_Riverdale is officially a go for Season 3 Thank you all for your love and support. We’ll see you soon! #riverdale”
Jughead, Veronica, Archie Andrews and Betty Cooper all appear on the season 3 announcement poster.
When will Riverdale season 3 be on Netflix?
While a start date has not yet been confirmed, news of a third series of Riverdale comes as The CW network released their schedule for the Autumn 2018-19 season. So, the new series could be making its way onto Netflix by the end of the year.
In the meantime, you can stream Riverdale season two on Netflix.
When is the next episode of Riverdale on Netflix?
After a month-long break while the Winter Olympics was on, Riverdale season two is now back in full-swing on Netflix in the UK.
The next episode (Chapter Thirty One: A Night To Remember) will appear on Netfix on 18th April.
The season finale is due to air on 16th May 2018.
