Robbie Williams denies he’s joining the X Factor judging panel

We haven’t seen a Take That star on the X Factor judging panel since Gary Barlow left in 2013 so it would be nice for fans of the band to see another of the group’s singers on the show, wouldn’t it?

Well, unfortunately it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen any time soon – former member Robbie Williams has denied he’s joining the ITV talent contest as a judge.

The programme is currently undergoing a shake-up ahead of this year’s series with Dermot O’Leary quitting as host and long-term judge Louis Walsh saying he’s had enough of the show.

And with the only confirmed returning stars being Simon Cowell and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Robbie was one of the names said to have signed up.

However, today he tweeted: “Said it once, I’ll say it again, I’m unequivocally not doing X-Factor. Good luck to the show though x.”

Rita Ora is apparently in talks to replace Mel B on the panel and Nick Grimshaw is reportedly joining after Louis Walsh’s departure, with Louis telling the Daily Star Online that the Radio 1 DJ has “got my job”.

Louis said: “I don’t think he realises the hard work he has to put in though. It’s going to be hard work for him. You don’t just show up.”

However, Nick seems happy to give it a go, telling the Daily Star Sunday: “I wouldn’t risk my job at Radio 1 but I think I could do both. I don’t see why I couldn’t do it.

“I don’t think it would contradict my show on Radio 1. I think they would complement each other.”
