Sam Bailey has hit out at her former X Factor mentor Sharon Osbourne for making Honey G a star.
The singer, who won the 2013 series of the show, has remained close to Sharon since her triumph, but she isn’t impressed she’s given aspiring rapper Honey a chance.
Sam thinks Sharon is making a mockery of the show and giving the series a bad reputation.
She told the Daily Star Sunday: "She’s stealing everyone’s thunder a bit. But I don’t think that’s fair because she’s not someone who is going to sell out arenas.
"There are people with massive potential. But shamefully it’s been overshadowed by Honey G and the controversy about her being in the show.
"I think the show gets a bad reputation because of people like her."
Sam was invited to watch The X Factor in the audience of one of the live shows earlier this month and even told Honey G’s family that she wasn’t impressed with the urban artist.
She said: "I was asked by her family what I thought of her. I told them, ‘If I’m honest, she’s not my cup of tea.’"
The X Factor now struggles to reach the huge ratings it used to in its heyday even though it still does get a large audience.
And Sam thinks it’s because the viewing public can now see that "it’s a TV show and not a talent competition".
