Believe it or not, Gogglebox has been on the telly for four years now… yep FOUR. And by now, we kind of feel like all the main characters are more like our friends than actual celebs in their own right.
Yeah, we know that loads of the Goggleboxers have shot to fame in the last few years, like Scarlett Moffatt who landed a presenting gig on Saturday Night Takeaway, and Steph and Dom, who have been on pretty much every TV show, from Come Dine with Me to Alan Carr Chatty Man... but to us they’ll always just be normal people who bicker with their families and enjoy the odd Chinese takeaway on a Saturday night.
So you can imagine our absolute dismay when we found out that yet another of the OG Gogglebox stars announced they’d be quitting the show, earlier today.
And not just any star, the legendary SANDRA MARTIN. We know, we’re heartbroken too.
Speaking about what drove her to leave the show, she admitted that since her co-star Sandi had left and her younger daughter had been drafted in, she felt she'd be less comfortable watching rude movies and sex scenes than she once was.
She told The Mirror: “Sandi had gone before, but it wouldn’t have been the same with my daughter.
“There are certain subjects that I can’t discuss with a 24-year-old…and when we are watching a show about ‘ooh-ohh’ it’s difficult for me to talk about ‘ooh-ooh’ with my daughter.”
We feel ya, Sandra. We feel ya. After all, she is known for her outrageous one liners!
But don’t get too upset, because this isn’t the last we’re going to be seeing of our fave Gogglebox star.
Oh no. Have no fear, because she's already been hired to appear in a panto!
