Fans of Sandra Oh have long been aware of her greatness, but her profile was heightened across the world even more last year, thanks to her turn as Eve Polastri in Killing Eve. The TV show, based on the Villanelle novels by Luke Jennings, was an instant hit up and down the country, and viewers tuned in each week to see the twists and turns.
The eight-episode series culminated in a stunning finale, drawing a whopping 1.3 million viewers to find out whether Eve would catch Villanelle - or vice versa.
But it's no surprise that the show went down so well, thanks to both Sandra's performance and Eve as well as Jodie Comer's Villanelle, and Sandra deservingly won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a TV Drama last night at the 76th Golden Globe Awards.
Sandra, who was also presenting the show alongside Saturday Night Live and Brooklyn Nine-Nine actor Andy Samberg, became emotional as she accepted the award, telling the audience she was "so grateful".
The win makes Sandra the first Asian woman to win in that category for almost 40 years, as the last Asian woman to win the award was Yoko Shimada in 1980 for her role in Shogun - not only that, but she's also the first Asian woman to host the Golden Globes since it first began in 1944.
Earlier in the night, the Grey's Anatomy actress spoke about the importance of diversity, saying, "I said yes to the fear of being on this stage tonight because I wanted to be here to look out into this audience and witness this moment of change. But right now, this moment is real."
Congratulations, Sandra!
