Viewers of SAS: Who Dares Win were left slightly baffled on Sunday night's episode (20th Jan) after seemingly capable Laura Bird handed in her arm band and quit the show. There didn't seem to be much explanation for why she left, compared to others who also left.

However, the 25-year-old has now alleged that there was much more to her exit than met the eye, taking to Facebook to blast show producers who left out the real reason for her leaving the show.

Sharing a photo of herself in hospital, Laura wrote on Facebook, 'I need to clear a few things up here that Channel 4 failed to mention... Two hours after I handed my number in, I was AIR LIFTED to Santiago hospital with acute appendicitis.

'Once I got to the hospital, I had emergency surgery to have my appendix removed. Had I have carried on and not handed my number in, my appendix would have almost definitely burst. And I would have definitely come pretty close to being in a box in the ground.'
