Saved By The Bell was up there with That’s So Raven and The Lizzie McGuire movie as the best things to happen to our childhood.
We were in love with Zac Morris, wanted to be Kelly Kapowski, adored Screech Powers, and wanted A.C. Slater to be our boyfriend.
There was nothing not to like about that show.
Except for Jessie Spano. She was annoying AF.
But if ever there was a definition of a childhood ruiner, it comes in the form of a new tell-all book written, obtained by RadarOnline, written by executive producer Peter Engel.
It is literally the most scandalous thing we’ve heard ever in our lives.
It confirms that there was actually a REAL LIFE love triangle between Tiffani-Amber Thiessen (Kelly), Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Zac), and Mario Lopez (A.C. Slater).
Tiffani-Amber is said to have got with Mark-Paul after they split on the show, and moved onto Mario in 1991.
Peter wrote: "They made it very clear that they were now in a relationship — holding hands, being cutesy, etc."
But then he apparently cheated on her during a LIVE TAPING.
We told you it was juicy.
"He was in his dressing room, making out with an extra, and Tiffani came in, catching him red-handed.”
"She was wearing his letter jacket and, in a rage, ripped it off and threw it at him. After that, she ran out."
Peter also revealed that he was a drug addict ten years up until 1979, 10 years before the show ended.
He went on to add that Jessie was originally supposed to have been addicted to amphetamines on the show.
"When I originally wrote the episode with Tom Tenowich, Jessie was hooked on speed, not caffeine pills," he wrote.
"But Standards and Practices, the censorial department at NBC, vetoed it, saying speed was too serious for Saturday mornings."
Very fair.
