It’s most people’s dream to step onto a film set, but how about a walk-on part in Pitch Perfect 3? Er, yes please.
Well, we haven’t got one but 19-year-old Scarlett Pannell has. Scarlett entered a Twitter competition being run by Universal. She had to lip-sync along to a scene in one of the films. She’s a massive Pitch Perfect fan – so much so that she’s seen it over 100 times and could lip-sync the whole of the first film.
“I really love Pitch Perfect and I had the afternoon free, it was just a bit of fun for me, so to enter and win is unbelievable.”
She tells us: “The three phrases I use are from Fat Amy in the film, I found them ridiculously funny. Fat Amy [played by Rebel Wilson] is my favourite character. I think she’s absolutely hilarious so I had to do one of hers.”
But it wasn’t as easy as it looks. She says: “I had to listen to each one 10 times for me to get what was supposed to be said and the timings right. It was about my sixth attempt at the video by the time we got the right one.”
And just as Scarlett was recording the final attempt, her dog Gus couldn’t help but stick his nose in. “He likes to be the centre of attention,” says Scarlett.
And if she could direct her own role in the film, Scarlett adds: “I’d make myself one of the Bellas, I love singing. I’ve done it for my whole life so I’d want to put myself in the thick of it.”
