Do Selena Gomez and the 13 Reasons Why cast have matching tattoos?
Yup.
The show's Tommy Dorfman, who plays Ryan Shaver, uploaded pics of Selena getting a meaningful tattoo with the cast on Instagram. He said: "Today was a magical day. Another day to be grateful to be alive. Alisha, Selena, and I went together to get ; tattoos. The ; symbol stands for an end of one thought and a beginning of another. Instead of a period, authors use the semicolon to continue a sentence.
"For us, it means a beginning of another chapter in life, in lieu of ending your life. I struggled with addiction and depression issues through high school and early college. I reached out and asked for help. At the time, I thought my life was over, I thought I'd never live past the age of 21."
Brandon Flynn 13 Reasons Why tattoo
Brandon Flynn, who plays Justin Foley, has the same semicolon tattoo. He uploaded his with the caption: "Allow your story to continue because it could help others and change the world."
Ooh AND Alisha Boe (Jessica Davis) has one, too. She explained: "I have received so much love and support from all of you who are watching 13 Reasons Why. Today- Tommy, Selena and I got tattoos of a semicolon.
"Project semicolon is a movement dedicated to presenting hope for those suffering from depression, thoughts of suicide, addiction, and self-injury."
What was Selena Gomez's response to 13 Reasons Why's backlash?
Speaking to Associated Press, Selena defended the show saying: "We stayed very true to the book and that’s initially what [author] Jay Asher created was a beautifully tragic, complicated yet suspenseful story and I think that’s what we wanted to do.
"We wanted to do it justice and, yeah, [the backlash is] gonna come no matter what. It’s not an easy subject to talk about, but I’m very fortunate with how it’s doing."
