After Selling Sunset's Chrishell Stause and Jason Oppenheim confirmed their relationship in an Instagram photo dump captioned "The JLo effect🤷🏻‍♀️", we have been unashamedly obsessed with the unlikely couple.

But it turns out, not even their close friends and colleagues saw this romance coming.

Fellow glam Real Estate Agent Mary Fitzgerald tells heat, "I never saw it coming because obviously she was married and so happy and he's always been a commitment-phobe. She's very serious in relationships, so I didn't even think about that and we're all just good friends."

"I think Brett probably knew first, but then I could just tell, I was like, 'Jason, what are you not telling me?' I could just tell by his smile, I just knew."

"I've been keeping it a secret for them and trying to help them hide it for a few months now. Just so they can see what their real feelings are, where it's going before they share it with the world and then have all the pressure of everybody and anybody putting their two cents in."

However, things haven't been completely smooth-sailing so far, especially if co-star Christine Quinn has anything to do with it. Mary reveals that Christine believes their relationship started back when Chrishell was married to This Is Us star, Kevin Hartley. The pair finalised their divorce at the start of 2021, with Chrishell claiming she was 'blindsided.

Mary adds, "This obviously happened way after Chrishell's divorce, I know Christine has tried to stir up some trouble saying that it happened before and that's obviously not true."

"It's been a couple of months that this has been going on for and they seem super happy. They're a great match and they really compliment eachother. They're very supportive of each other. They respect each other's opinions and feelings and and they just get along really well."

Despite new characters, babies and drama tipped for season four, we won't actually see Jason and Chrishell's romance play out until at least season five.

Congrats Selling Sunset, we're officially hooked.

The heartbreaking truth behind Mary Bedford and Aaron Simpson's split

How much commission do they make on Selling Sunset?

“Typically the commission on a purchase is 5%,” she said. “The 5% is split into half for the person who represents the seller and the person who brings the buyer, so you end up with 2.5%.

“If I bring the buyer, I get 2.5% of the purchase price, but then Jason will take his cut because he’s the broker and he has the liability.”

Speaking to Metro.co.uk, Maya continued, “Typically for a brokerage, it’s about 70/30 split. I would keep 70% out of the 2.5% and he would take 30%. And then we have to pay taxes.”
